Detroit Community Schools is hiring a full time Geometry Teacher.  Must have Michigan teacher certification and endorsement in the subject.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Geometry Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mathematics and a commitment to helping students develop their geometric reasoning, analytical skills, and confidence in math. The Geometry Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, developing curriculum, and assessing student performance.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that meet the curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.

• Teach geometry concepts including points, lines, planes, angles, triangles, similarity, congruence, theorems, and trigonometry in a clear and concise manner.

• Develop assessments and monitor student performance through various methods, including tests, quizzes, projects, and presentations.

• Collaborate with colleagues to align curricula and participate in ongoing professional development initiatives.

• Participate in school activities, meetings, and events to contribute to the overall mission of the institution.

• Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students

• Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and school staff

• Regular and predictable attendance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.

• Valid teaching certification/license in Michigan for secondary education with an endorsement in the subject. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in planning and assessing educational activities.

• Strong knowledge of geometric concepts and the ability to convey complex ideas in an understandable way.
